Network Engineer (Enterprise Infrastructure) Onsite - Manhattan, NY CDW Contract - through the end of the year CDW is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support office buildouts, device configuration, and day-to-day network operations across enterprise environments. This role is heavily focused on initial device deployment, configuration, and integration, working alongside vendors and remote hands teams to bring new sites online.
This is not a pure support role-we're looking for someone who can own device configuration and onboarding end-to-endWhat You'll DoLead network setup for new office builds, including initial device configuration and deploymentConfigure and onboard routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructureWork with vendors and remote hands teams to execute physical installations and ensure proper setupAdd and manage firewalls within centralized management platforms (e.g., Panorama)Configure and integrate Cisco switches, including onboarding into network access control systems (ISE)Support and manage SD-WAN environments (e.g., Meraki or similar platforms)Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance and connectivity issuesAssist with network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projectsMaintain accurate network documentation and configuration standards What You Bring4-7+ years of network engineering experience in enterprise environmentsStrong hands-on experience configuring network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from the ground up Proven experience deploying initial configurations for new network environmentsDeep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, HSRP)Experience with Cisco routing and switching platformsHands-on experience with firewall configuration and centralized management (e.g., Panorama)Experience integrating Cisco switches into ISE or similar NAC solutionsExperience working with or managing SD-WAN technologies (Meraki or similar)Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as packet capturesAbility to work independently while coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams Nice to HaveExperience with Cisco ACI or other SDN technologiesWireless experience (Cisco WLC, Meraki)Basic network automation (Python, APIs)Cloud networking exposure (AWS/Azure)Firewall platforms such as Palo Alto Why This Role?
