À propos
A long-established UK manufacturer is recruiting a senior Business Analyst to sit at the heart of the largest technology programme in its history — a full enterprise re-platforming alongside a wider portfolio of internal development and improvement work. This is the principal BA seat. You will work directly with the Group IT Director and the Programme Director, and laterally with a small, long-tenured executive team whose 10–30 years of operational knowledge — across Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercial and Finance — is the most valuable input to the transformation.
Your job is to extract that knowledge, structure it, and translate it into requirements, process maps and documentation at the pace and quality the platform implementation demands. It is a hands-on, individual contributor role — a do-er, not a manager. There is no team to build. You will write the requirements, run the workshops and draft the process maps yourself. Architecture and target-state design are supported elsewhere in the business and by the implementation partner; you will think pragmatically about future-proofing and integration without owning the architectural function.
What you'll do
- Lead requirements elicitation across all functional areas — workshops, executive interviews, structured engagement.
- Build current-state and target-state process maps; manage the requirements lifecycle through delivery, adoption and benefits.
- Hold the line on business design with the implementation partner(s) and internal development teams — making sure platform configuration follows the business's defined needs, not the other way round.
- Operate to some degree as a Product Manager for internal platform development work running alongside the main programme.
- Support partner and platform selection, contributing the business voice to technology, integration and data conversations.
What we're looking for
- Significant BA experience on enterprise platform implementations (ERP, WMS or equivalent tier-1 system) — client-side or in a comparable embedded role.
- Demonstrable craft in elicitation: workshop facilitation, executive-level interviewing, structured note-taking under ambiguity.
- Strong process mapping discipline across multiple functional areas. - Confident, pragmatic stakeholder engagement — able to extract clear thinking from busy, senior people without burning their goodwill.
- A platform-agnostic mindset. You frame business needs in business terms rather than reaching for any single platform's standard process model.
- A hands-on, do-er disposition. You own the writing, mapping and documentation yourself. - Pragmatic future-proofing thinking on data, integration and process — enough to participate constructively in architectural conversations led by others. Nice to have - Manufacturing, industrial or other project-based business experience.
- Working knowledge across multiple platform ecosystems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Oracle or similar) without being committed or biased toward any one of them. - Formal qualification in Business Analysis (BABOK / IIBA, BCS Diploma in BA Practice). - Experience supporting partner and platform selection.
Package - Basic salary £60,000 – £80,000 depending on experience - Performance-related bonus - Pension scheme - 25 days holiday + 8 statutory bank holidays - Onsite initially, with potential to move to a more flexible pattern once working relationships are established
