Technical Sales Manager
Hawkins, Inc. is a formulator, manufacturer, blender, distributor, and sales agent for thousands of industrial chemicals and reagent grade laboratory chemicals sold to municipalities and businesses throughout the Central United States. Thousands across a variety of industries have depended on Hawkins for the chemical products they need since 1938. The position is responsible for managing Hawkins product sales to current accounts while developing new prospects to increase sales and profits. Responsible for identifying opportunities and driving sales growth of current and new product lines through product knowledge, customer knowledge, and an intimate understanding of the business segment. Duties and responsibilities include: Develop long-term, positive relationships with strategic customers to ensure our products and company are well known and respected. Accountable for sales growth and support for specific distributors/direct accounts, in designated territory including but not limited to those in Latin America, Caribbean and Domestic Identify and pursue business opportunities for all Hawkins products. Participate in the commercialization of new products and improvement of current products. Provide technical support to other Account Managers as needed. Participate in educational opportunities and pertinent skill development workshops; Maintain personal networks; Participate in professional organizations About you: Bachelor's degree required. Food science or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years prior food industry experience in Production, FSQA, Food Ingredient Sales or related. Processed meat/poultry experience is highly desirable. Working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI principles, and familiarity with Titles 7, 9, and 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Strong oral and written communications skills; proficiency to read, write and speak Spanish is required. Ability to identify and communicate with key personnel within accounts to further selling cycle. Strong problem solving, decision making and prioritization skills. Self-starter with a desire to win. Competitive in nature. Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to utilize Microsoft office products and similar IT related programs associated with the job function. Physical requirements: Must be capable of traveling domestically, as required by the job. This includes the ability to travel by car, airplane, and other modes of transportation. Frequency and duration of travel should be specified, if possible. Ability to navigate and move around various settings, including manufacturing plants, office environments, and during travel. This may involve walking or standing for extended periods. Must possess the stamina to engage in prolonged activities, including tours of manufacturing facilities, inspections, and meetings throughout the day. Ability to wear and use protective gear as required by safety regulations when touring manufacturing floors. This may include safety glasses, helmets, gloves, and ear protection.
