Outside Employee Benefits Sales Position

This position is responsible for driving new business sales revenue growth for small business clients. It involves cross-selling referrals from other business units and establishing a pipeline of clients with 10-50 employee lives.

Responsibilities include achieving annualized new business sales goals of $80K, meeting new business activity and quality appointment goals, using USI resources to research prospects, developing customized messaging, understanding and explaining USI's competitive differentiation, developing sales business plans, using effective prospecting strategies, building client and prospect pipeline, developing cross-selling strategies, innovating for clients, using USI's contact management and sales automation tool, participating in USI's industry training and sales support programs, positively representing USI in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events, demonstrating technical knowledge, successfully developing and deploying sales and marketing strategies, and working collaboratively with the account management team and national/regional resources.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include 2+ years of sales experience in an insurance brokerage, a college degree preferred, holding a Life and Health insurance license, being personable, highly motivated, and goal oriented, having superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, excellent organizational and follow-up skills, a strong understanding of Employee Benefits, a consultative, positive, and resourceful approach, excellent listening skills with strong customer focus, ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, and ability to deal with senior level management.
