Inside Sales Representative

Geyer Instructional Products is seeking a personable, organized, and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to support educators, schools, and organizations nationwide. Customer service is our number one priority at Geyer, and this role is central to delivering a positive, knowledgeable, and human experience at every customer touchpoint.

Because Geyer exclusively sells educational products - including math, science, STEM, and general classroom supplies - this role requires a background in education and a genuine passion for supporting teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and live website chat
  • Enjoy and excel at phone-based conversations with educators and purchasing teams
  • Write clear, professional, and helpful emails that reflect Geyer's customer-first culture
  • Handle customer questions and issues with empathy, urgency, and care

Quotes, Orders & Follow-Up

  • Process incoming quotes accurately and efficiently
  • Proactively follow up on open quotes to support conversion into sales orders
  • Guide customers through product selection, pricing, availability, and ordering

Tax Exempt & Documentation

  • Review and process tax-exempt certificates accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow up with customers to ensure they have the information and support needed to complete their orders
  • Assist customers with documentation questions to ensure a smooth purchasing experience

Bids & Institutional Sales

  • Search for, respond to, and complete bids for schools, districts, and organizations
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to meet bid requirements and deadlines

Vendor Coordination & Special Pricing

  • Work with vendors to request special quotes, confirm lead times, and secure special pricing
  • Clearly communicate pricing, lead times, and availability to customers

Regional & Specialized Support

  • Work exclusively with Hawaii and Alaska customers on shipping quotes and logistics
  • Provide accurate freight estimates tailored to regional shipping requirements

Relationship Building & Account Support

  • Proactively connect with larger customers to check in and support ongoing or upcoming needs
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell complementary educational products that add value

Reviews & Customer Advocacy

  • Follow up with customers who have had positive experiences and encourage 5-star Google reviews
  • Act as a trusted resource and brand ambassador for Geyer Instructional Products

Flexibility & Growth

  • Adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities throughout the year as the role evolves
  • Take on new tasks, processes, or focus areas as the company and customer needs grow
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to improve customer experience, efficiency, and sales processes
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Background in education (teaching, educational support, curriculum, school operations, or related fields)
  • Passion for educational products, including math, science, STEM, and classroom supplies
  • Comfortable and confident speaking with customers over the phone
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write professional, customer-friendly emails
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness
  • Adaptable mindset and willingness to grow with an evolving role
  • Service-driven, consultative approach to sales
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in inside sales, customer service, or B2C/B2B sales
  • Familiarity with school purchasing processes, tax-exempt orders, or bids
  • Experience using CRM, ERP, or e-commerce platforms
