This is a full-time, in-person role based in Champaign, IL, where you’ll be involved in every phase of the process from schematic design to construction administration. If you enjoy variety in your work, seeing projects through from concept to completion, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, this is a unique and rewarding opportunity.
You’ll help bring projects to life across our portfolio, from early design through construction, while building your skills and creative influence along the way.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and present schematic design solutions for new construction and renovation projects
Create electronic and manual graphics to communicate and explore design options
Integrate zoning, code, ADA, structural, and MEP considerations into design
Prepare complete construction documentation packages for bidding and permitting
Organize documentation to communicate design intent and project scope
Select materials and systems aligned with project goals, budgets, and schedules
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and support field coordination
Respond to RFIs and provide clarification during construction
Collaborate with internal departments and external consultants
Support site acquisition with predesign services
Coordinate LEED or sustainability design requirements when applicable
Stay current with architectural standards and emerging practices
Experience and Qualifications
Master’s degree in Architecture and 5 or more years of experience in design, documentation, and project delivery
Certification as a licensed professional is required; Illinois and/or Indiana preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Excel, and LEED is a plus
Knowledge of IBC and local Building Safety requirements
Experience with a variety of project types (office, retail, residential, warehouse) and phases (new construction, renovation, master planning)
Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-person position based in our office. Occasional travel and project site visits are required.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary - $85,000-$110,000 annually**

**The salary range listed for this position represents the range of compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
All hiring is contingent on eligibility to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or transfer visas for this position.
The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 110,000 USD per year(616G )
