Maintenance Technician

UFP Canada is one of the country's leading manufacturers and suppliers of industrial packaging products, specialty lumber, and lattice. We are a growing company and are looking for a maintenance technician to support our experienced maintenance team on a variety of responibilities to prevent breakdowns, extend the life of our equipment, minimize downtime and optimize our overall production performance.

Job type: Day and night rotation shifts, permanent, full-time

Daytime schedule : Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Evening schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 pm to 4:30 am

Salary: starting from $25/hour

Evening premium: 3$ / hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform various preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections and equipment servicing, as well as day-to-day troubleshooting;
• Complete diagnostics and minor repairs on machines and small tools;
• Conduct troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on a daily basis;
• Perform quality verifications, blade adjustments and replacements;
• Verify sharpening accuracy, blade condition and perform saw classification;
• Measure the width of wood processed on various machines to ensure that the saws are correctly mounted;
• Send defective saws for sharpening and prepare shipping documents;
• Unblock equipment and perform set-ups.
• Sharpen corrugated knives and chain saw blades.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous training or diploma not required (in-house training);
• Spoken French;
• Spoken English (an asset).

• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Strong digital dexterity and initiative skills;
• Ability to work in collaboration with other colleagues and in a fast-paced environment.
