Summary
Position Highlights:
The Lead Quality Data Analytics & Performance Improvement Analyst advances organizational excellence in quality, patient safety, and performance through data-driven strategies. This role integrates clinical expertise, analytics, and improvement methodologies to deliver measurable outcomes, reduce harm, and foster continuous learning.
Serving Quality Value Analytics and the Division of Excellence in Clinical Safety, this position collaborates with internal teams and external partners to lead improvement initiatives, develop and implement performance plans, and ensure alignment with Moffitt's strategic priorities.
Other related duties as assigned by appropriate Leadership.
Credential and Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Health Sciences, Business or Informatics required. Must have one of the following clinical license: RN(Registered Nurse), allied health, etc. Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Specialist in Business intelligence through ASQ, IASSC or CSSC or Vizient Analyst Certification. Minimum 7 years' experience in healthcare data management, analysis, or performance improvement with 5 years' experience in project management. Direct clinical experience (e.g., nursing, allied health). Minimum 3 years' experience working with Vizient's Clinical Database or similar healthcare analytics platform. Experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required
Familiarity with Medicare's standard Prospective Payment System and related Quality Reporting requirements. Advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with ability to create executive-ready dashboards and presentations. Ability to develop complex datasets and identify targets for needed improvements and assist in developing useful improvement strategies. Strong understanding of quality, safety, quality analytics, patient experience, and performance improvement frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Provide continuous support and collaboration with division leadership
Lead analytics program in collaboration with the Director of quality value analytics. Ensure report requests are assigned appropriately, completed timely and communication with requesting parties is maintained in a professional, collaborative fashion. Assume responsibility for regulatory and contractual reporting data, including writing code for ad hoc reports to support internal, external stakeholders and regulatory agencies as required by compliance timeframes, ensuring data integrity and preventing potential penalties.
Lead divisional quality and patient safety initiatives across inpatient, ambulatory, and specialty care settings
Design and implement quality improvement strategies that enhance operational efficiency and clinical outcomes that meet contractual and regulatory clinical data-collection requirements. Oversee quality improvement initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring timely completion and measurable outcomes. Facilitate improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, and other methodologies to address high risk or high-variation processes.
Translate performance data into actionable insights and collaborate with leadership to drive system-aligned improvements
Develop user specific dashboards, apply data analysis methodology and engage key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and enhance patient outcomes across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational strategic plans. Partner with Business Analytics, Regulatory & Accreditation, Process Excellence, and Nursing Quality teams to ensure datadriven, clinically relevant initiatives and timely results.
Oversees and leads quality initiatives to enhance performance metrics
Collaborate with external partners, including academic institutions, national quality collaboratives, and professional organizations, to align internal improvement efforts with organizational strategic plans, industry best practices and emerging standards. Continuously monitor performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and track progress toward defined goals.
Lead division and provider education efforts
Conduct training and coaching on quality improvement tools, change management, and best practices. Ensure users are trained and able to meet and remain in compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Apply analytic strategy to assist with identify opportunities to improve quality of care and meet reportable metric standards.
