À propos

Our client, a growing pre-engineered building manufacturer in the South Portland suburbs, is seeking a
Sales Operations Manager
to oversee their Inside Sales and Project Management teams and bring stronger structure, accountability and consistency to how the team operates.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role is responsible for ensuring quotes, orders and customer requests are handled accurately and on time, while supporting a smooth handoff from initial quote through project completion. You will partner closely with sales and cross-functional teams to keep work moving and deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role with direct responsibility for team performance, communication and follow-through. The team is established and busy, with strong people in place, and this role will take the lead in mapping workflows and building clear, repeatable SOPs, with a strong emphasis on how the team shows up for customers. It requires a service-minded leader who is emotionally intelligent, intuitive to customer needs, and able to translate that into a consistently strong experience. Pre-engineered steel building experience is essential, but this role is open to a range of backgrounds across sales, engineering, project management and operations.
What You'll Do
Lead, coach and manage a team of Inside Sales Representatives and Project Managers, setting clear expectations around responsiveness, communication and accountability. Run the daily operating rhythm of the team, including stand-ups, open quote reviews and prioritization of active work. Ensure quotes, orders and customer requests are processed accurately and in a timely manner, stepping in to remove bottlenecks and keep work moving. Improve consistency in how work is handled across the team, including communication, handoffs and follow-through between departments. Track key metrics such as quote turnaround time, workload and team performance, using data to guide priorities. Serve as a point of escalation for customer issues, ensuring timely resolution and a strong overall experience. Partner with outside sales, estimating, engineering and production to support a smooth and coordinated workflow. Over time, document and refine internal processes to support a more consistent and scalable operation. What You Bring
Experience within pre-engineered steel buildings is required; background may come from sales, engineering, project management, operations or similar functions within the industry. Strong leader with the ability to develop, coach and hold an inside sales team accountable, bringing a balanced and empathetic approach to leadership. Experience with Lean principles and the ability to map workflows and build clear, repeatable SOPs. Highly organized with strong operational follow-through, able to manage a high volume of work while maintaining visibility and control. Experience working in CRM, ERP, and ticket systems, with comfort navigating and tracking work across platforms. Data-driven approach, with experience building and using metrics and reporting to manage performance and guide decision-making. Strong process awareness, with the ability to recognize gaps and improve how work flows across a team. Willingness to work fully on-site in the South Portland suburbs.
Our client offers a competitive base salary range of $100K-$120K plus annual bonus, in addition to comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and paid holidays.
