Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC) Position Type:
Volunteer Position Summary: The Volunteer Content Creator helps develop compelling written and visual content to support outreach, education, and advocacy campaigns. This role helps amplify the voices of incarcerated workers and raise awareness about issues impacting people inside prisons. Responsibilities: Write engaging social media captions, educational posts, and campaign messaging Design visual assets such as graphics, carousels, and infographics using Canva or similar tools Collaborate with team members to align posts with campaign priorities and calls to action Ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, accessible, and culturally relevant Adapt content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and LinkedIn Ideal Skills: Strong writing and/or graphic design skills Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design tools Understanding of brand consistency and tone Eye for social media trends and visual storytelling Bonus Skills: Knowledge of accessibility practices (alt text, color contrast, inclusive language) About IWOC: The Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee is a project of the Industrial Workers of the World that organizes incarcerated workers and advocates for the rights, dignity, and fair treatment of people inside prisons.
