This position provides support to the clinical care team under the direction of the nursing staff. Duties include support of the outpatient visit through selected tasks according to practice protocols and procedures.

Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.

Performs clinical skills such as point of care testing and EKGs.

Maintains accurate and prompt documentation in the medical record.

Supports the outpatient encounter with knowledge of patient flow (including scheduling appointments, tests and lab work), insurance processes and coordination of resources including durable medical equipment.

Assist as trained in outpatient procedural visits through duties such as the set-up of instruments, labeling of specimens and general chaperoning of patient exams.

Obtains patient information including vital signs, patient histories and other health information through the medical record and patient screening. Relays important information to the health care team in a timely manner.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 2 years

Licenses & Certifications: Cert/Reg in Area of Expertise

Experience: 2-5 years
