Class Summary
Responsible for providing instruction within the I.T./Networking program. Prepare, develop, revise curriculum and course work. Provide scheduled office hours for student consultation. Serve as the program coordinator for the I.T./Networking Program. Serve on College committees as needed and assigned. Participate in student orientated instructional and advisement activities as needed and assigned.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Associates degree or higher in the discipline of Information Technology or a related field. Three years of industry related work experience. CompTIA A+ or similar certification
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Bachelors or master's degree in the discipline of Information Technology or a related field. Five years industry related work experience. Hold current CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certifications. Some post-secondary teaching experience
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Work experience supporting personal computers, servers and networking hardware. Experience installing and supporting Windows and Linux operating systems. Hold current CompTIA A+ or similar certification.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
Industry certifications from Microsoft, COMPTIA and CISCO, indicating subject mastery. Security + Certification.
Job Duties
Comply with all college policies and safety policies to ensure a positive learning environment for student instruction and to support the activities of the college and to attend meetings and training as required.
Teaching and Student Engagement 1. Teach assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabi and a schedule of classes that may include day, evening, and distance classes. 2. Engage in development of new and creative instructional materials, including new courses and delivery formats. 3. Assist in keeping the curriculum of the I.T./Networking programs current. Prepare, develop, revise curriculum and course work. 4. Advise students and ensure the successful completion of their degree program. 5. Post and hold office hours in a physical and electronic format (to include virtual office hours) as appropriate). 6. Participate in course and program assessment planning. 7. Assist with student recruitment.
Research/Scholarship/Professional Development/Service 1. Coordinates ongoing review of curriculum and program requirements (i.e., program entrance requirements, alignment of program curriculum to standards)
2. Maintains program accreditation standards, as applicable
3. Coordinates course and program assessment activities
4. Provides recommendations for the I.T./Networking programs to the Department Chair for the following:
a. Course offerings during the fall, spring, and summer semesters
b. Adjunct faculty within the discipline
c. Annual budgetary needs
5. Coordinates Advisory Committee meetings, as applicable 6. Maintain a current knowledge of advances and innovations in the academic discipline. 7. Assist with committee work related to the faculty member's Department. College. Serve on committees as needed and assigned. 8. Engage in service to the community, including advising and working with students. 9. Attend Department, College meetings along with in-service workshops, honors and awards ceremonies, convocations and graduations. 10. Other duties as appropriate to the position
Licensing/Certification Requirements
COMPTIA A+ or similar certification.
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
