Network Engineer – permanent - hybrid - 2 days p/week onsite (just outside Cardiff)

An exclusive client of ours is looking for a Network Engineer to join their ICT team, supporting and maintaining network infrastructure across 260 sites, offices, and data centres.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco LAN/WAN, VoIP, and Checkpoint Firewall devices.
Maintain and support Wi-Fi networks and VPNs to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
Work with third-party providers to oversee wide-area telecoms and voice platform security (CUCM to Teams Voice).
Ensure firewalls, IPS, IDS, and NAC systems are up-to-date and compliant with PCI-DSS security standards.
Provide 2nd/3rd line support, escalating issues as needed and mentoring junior IT staff.
Participate in network projects, planning and implementing infrastructure changes.
On-call support for critical business systems.
Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of Cisco networking.
Experience with Firewalls and VPN technologies.
Some experience with Cisco Wireless and SIP/IP Voice systems (CUCM & Teams Voice) would be ideal.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and experience working with third-party service providers.
A full UK driving licence is required.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week on-site in South Wales.
