Part time -Physician Administrator 2Location: Toledo, OH 43614Hours/Week: 16 (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible first or second shift)Potential: 8–20 hours/week (16 hours on average)License Requirement: Valid Ohio Medical LicenseDegree Requirement: Doctoral Degree in MedicineJob SummaryOversee and direct medical care for residents at developmental centers, ensuring delivery of high-quality services consistent with standards for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID). Serve as a primary care physician while providing leadership in the development and implementation of medical policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities•
Medical Oversight: o
Plan, coordinate, and direct medical services for residents o
Establish policies and procedures consistent with regulatory standards o
Provide direct patient care, including physicals, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and documentation •
Collaboration & Consultation: o
Work with interdisciplinary teams (psychology, psychiatry, nursing, case managers, direct care staff, and families/guardians) to address health and safety concerns o
Collaborate with Certified Nurse Practitioners and other medical staff o
Consult with facility committees (admission/discharge, infection control, medication review, human rights, and emergency preparedness) o
Provide medical consultation to programs and assist in planning statewide health services •
Program Administration: o
Supervise lower-level medical and support personnel o
Formulate and implement medical policies on behalf of the agency o
Provide leadership in public health initiatives, including maternal and child health programs and infectious disease surveillance o
Assist in grant development, resource allocation, and comprehensive planning of statewide services •
Specialized Medical Responsibilities: o
Handle complex medical, psychiatric, or laboratory cases o
Serve as medical supervisor during disease outbreaks or other facility-wide health concerns o
Provide training and guidance for staff on complex medical issues Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities•
Knowledge of medicine, psychiatry, public health, and healthcare administration •
Skills in patient care, policy implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration •
Ability to supervise staff, manage complex cases, and handle unpredictable situations Minimum Qualifications•
Doctoral Degree in Medicine •
Valid Ohio Medical License •
CPR Certification at healthcare-professional level •
Healthcare-professional level CPR Certification •
Ohio Medical License Preferred Skills•
Experience in public health, developmental disability care, or administrative leadership ________________________________________
