As a CT/Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT and X-ray procedures, following physician orders and established imaging protocols to produce clear, accurate diagnostic images. You will operate CT scanners and radiographic equipment safely and efficiently, apply radiation safety principles according to ALARA standards, and verify patient identity, exam details, and relevant history prior to each study. You will assess image quality, recognize and correct technical issues when possible, and promptly communicate any urgent or unexpected findings to the appropriate clinical staff in accordance with hospital policy.
You will routinely interact with patients of all ages and conditions, providing clear explanations of procedures, answering questions, and offering reassurance to reduce anxiety and ensure comfort. You will practice meticulous infection control, maintain patient privacy and confidentiality, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect at all times. You may start IV lines and assist with preparation and administration of contrast media following protocols and under appropriate supervision, monitoring patients for adverse reactions and escalating concerns immediately.
This position plays an integral role in the smooth operation of the imaging department. You will manage workflow by prioritizing exams, coordinating with the emergency department, inpatient units, and outpatient services, and ensuring timely completion and transfer of images through PACS and radiology information systems. You will verify exam orders, complete accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, and collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to clarify imaging requirements when necessary.
