The CT Technologist will review patient histories, confirm appropriate exam orders, and select proper technical factors and protocols to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation dose in accordance with ALARA principles. You will perform contrast-enhanced studies, including starting and monitoring IV contrast injections, assessing for contraindications, and observing patients for potential adverse reactions. You will apply your knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques to recognize adequate diagnostic quality and identify when repeat or additional images are necessary. Accurate documentation, timely image transfer to PACS, and effective communication with radiologists, nurses, and referring providers will be essential aspects of your daily work.
Working within a culture grounded in patient care, respect, integrity, accountability, and safety, you will adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards, institutional policies, and infection prevention and radiation safety guidelines. You will assist with room preparation, equipment quality control checks, and routine maintenance reporting to ensure scanners and support systems are functioning properly and safely. The CT Technologist will help maintain appropriate supplies, verify patient identification and consent, follow departmental workflows for scheduling and throughput, and support emergency and trauma imaging needs as required, which may include evening, night, weekend, or on-call shifts depending on departmental coverage.
