In this role, you will assess, plan, and deliver respiratory therapies for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. Your daily responsibilities will include performing thorough respiratory assessments, administering oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications, managing airway clearance techniques, and setting up and monitoring non-invasive and invasive ventilation. You will draw and analyze arterial blood gases, interpret results in collaboration with providers, and adjust therapy according to established protocols and physician orders.
Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, you will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to individualized care plans, and provide timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record. You will respond to emergency situations, including rapid response calls and code blue events, assisting with airway management, resuscitation efforts, and ventilator support to ensure safe and effective patient care in high-pressure environments.
The Respiratory Therapist will also perform and assist with diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function tests and bedside spirometry when needed, ensuring that equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and used in accordance with infection control and safety standards. You will help educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, home-care equipment, medication use, and strategies to optimize lung health, supporting safe discharges and improved long-term outcomes.

This position is well-suited for a Respiratory Therapist who values teamwork, clear communication, and compassionate, patient-focused care. You should be comfortable working in an on-site hospital setting that may include critical care units, emergency departments, medical-surgical floors, and procedural areas. Flexibility with shifts, including possible nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required to meet patient care needs.
