The CT Technologist will verify physician orders, review patient histories, and assess clinical indications to select appropriate scanning protocols and techniques. You will position patients safely and comfortably, explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety, and monitor patients closely throughout examinations, responding promptly to changes in condition. You will be responsible for accurate patient identification, proper use of contrast materials, and performance of contrast injections in compliance with departmental and regulatory guidelines, including screening for allergies and contraindications.
This position requires meticulous attention to image quality, including proper patient positioning, selection of exposure factors, and use of post-processing tools and reconstruction techniques. You will work in close collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely completion of exams, communication of critical findings, and coordinated patient care. You will also contribute to workflow efficiency by managing exam schedules, prioritizing stat and emergent cases, and assisting with transport and preparation of patients when needed.

Core responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting CT equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly, and assisting with routine quality control testing to ensure equipment performance and image consistency. You will follow all radiation safety practices, including use of shielding, dose optimization, and adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles. Compliance with Joint Commission standards, state and federal regulations, and Methodist Health System policies is essential.
The successful candidate is a Registered Radiologic Technologist with advanced certification in CT or eligibility to obtain CT certification within a defined timeframe. Experience in a hospital environment, including emergency and critical care imaging, is highly valued. The role may require rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as participation in on-call coverage to support 24/7 patient care needs.
