Job Duties Designers will be involved in completing various design tasks supporting the development and production of gas turbine componentry and tooling. Designers will take ownership of design tasks from start to finish, interface with customers and stakeholders regularly, implement process and productivity improvements for existing hardware, and apply unique solutions to meet hardware usage, fabrication, assembly, and testing requirements. Designers are expected to regularly communicate and work with other team members to ensure consistent work and quality.
Required qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
5+ years of design experience within the aerospace or related industry.
Experience with Siemens NX CAD modeling and drafting.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred qualifications
Experience designing tooling, support equipment, and turbomachinery hardware.
Proficiency in using stackup analysis to determine component tolerances and verify assembly fitment.
Experience designing additively manufactured components.
Experience designing gas turbine componentry for flight and ground test purposes.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, assembly and disassembly processes, manufacturing, tooling, and instrumentation.
Experience creating and/or reviewing engineering prints.
Experience creating and/or reviewing Ansys structural analysis packages.
Familiarity with gas turbine and/or other propulsion system types.
Compensation Salary ranges from $95,000 to $115,000. Compensation is determined based on education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), education assistance, PTO, holidays, and other paid leave required by law.
