Overview We are seeking a Graphic Designer who will support the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF). The role resides in the Graphics Group of the Creative Services Division, Communications and Community Engagement Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Major Duties/Responsibilities
Work proficiently in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Collaborate with leadership and internal customers to produce timely and visually effective communication tools for internal and external stakeholders.
Plan and produce significant deliverables such as annual reports, brochures, signage, posters, infographics, presentations, R&D achievement sheets, and collateral for high‑profile visits.
Prioritize requests, coordinate workflow, and schedule production with printers or other vendors to meet tight deadlines and maintain cost‑effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health, and quality program requirements.
Follow internal review processes to guarantee the highest quality products.
Engage with team members throughout all stages of the communications process and contribute to the overall mission.

Basic Qualifications
BS or BA degree in art, graphic design, or related field.
Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in graphic design.
Portfolio demonstrating applicable work.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to understand, follow, and implement complex instructions.
Strong organizational skills.
Flexibility to handle multiple assignments for multiple clients simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor under pressure.
Problem‑solving and solution‑implementation skills.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Motivated self‑starter capable of independent and collaborative work across the laboratory.
Ability to function in a fast‑paced research environment and adapt to changing needs.
Proficient in multi‑page layout and design.
Experience with electronic newsletter design is preferred.
Security, Credentialing, and Eligibility Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD‑12 PIV badge.
Real‑ID compliant identification required for employment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a federal PIV card and comply with DOE Order 473.1A, including a favorable post‑employment background investigation.
Successful completion of a Federal Tier 1 background check, including disclosure of illegal drug activities.
