About the Role

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? As an HGV Driver with us, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our construction and asset replacement projects on the distribution network. Your expertise in LV & HV switching, isolation, and safety documentation will be invaluable!

Your Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Plan outages and create switching programmes while collaborating with System Control.
  • Make dead, isolate, and earth high voltage electrical networks.
  • Facilitate a safe working environment during high voltage operations.
  • Issue Safety Documents and Permits to Work for apparatus identification and release.
  • Conduct high voltage testing and fault location.
  • Reenergise the network upon project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Freedom’s SHE policy and safety instructions on-site.
  • Implement safety rules, instructions, and procedures from Freedom and our customers.
  • Prepare project files in line with Freedom policy and CDM Regulations.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments at all project stages.
  • Maintain all statutory records, certificates, and notifications.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Oversee work activities for effective and timely completion.
  • Accurately complete records such as as-builts and work record sheets.
  • Coordinate with employees and control centres for shutdowns and Permits to Work.
  • Collaborate with site managers, subcontractors, clients, and colleagues for smooth project execution.
  • Mentor and develop trainees.
