Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department within our broad Healthcare & Medical network. As one of the largest health systems in the United States, Sanford Health offers comprehensive medical services through clinics, hospitals, and senior living facilities across multiple states. In this role, you will be an integral member of a collaborative care team, supporting physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. The CMA will provide hands-on clinical and administrative support, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting medical histories and vital signs, assisting with examinations and minor procedures, administering medications and immunizations as delegated and in accordance with scope-of-practice guidelines, performing basic diagnostic tests such as EKGs and point-of-care testing, and collecting and processing laboratory specimens. You will help maintain a clean and well-organized clinical environment, ensure exam rooms and equipment are prepared and sanitized, and support smooth patient flow throughout the day. The CMA will utilize electronic health records to accurately document care, update patient information, and communicate effectively with the care team. You will play an important role in patient education by reinforcing provider instructions, clarifying follow-up plans, and supporting patients and families in understanding medications, chronic disease management, and available resources. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor. You will be expected to adhere to infection prevention and control standards, comply with regulatory and HIPAA requirements, and participate in quality and safety initiatives that advance Sanford Health’s commitment to high-quality patient care.
