We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer II to support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure across mission-critical environments. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN networks while partnering with senior engineers on network design, upgrades, and optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong networking fundamentals, experience supporting production environments, and the ability to work independently in both office and remote site settings. This is an opportunity to support high-visibility infrastructure programs where your technical expertise directly impacts operational readiness and mission success. You’ll work with advanced networking technologies, travel to critical sites, and contribute to a strong engineering team. Key Responsibilities Include: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and related infrastructure across multi-vendor environments including Cisco and Juniper. Monitor network health, performance, and availability; proactively resolve latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues. Support core networking technologies including VLANs, TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), GRE tunnels, and multicast networking. Perform root cause analysis for LAN/WAN incidents and document findings, fixes, and preventative actions. Assist with network upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure improvement projects. Travel to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. Provide timely updates to program stakeholders on project status, incidents, and remediation efforts. Support critical activities outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, when required. Perform additional program-related duties as needed. Required Qualifications 3+ years of network engineering or network support experience. Post-secondary degree or technical training in IT, Networking, or related discipline preferred. Active Secret Security Clearance. U.S. Citizen with valid U.S. passport. IAT Level II 8570 compliant certification (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent). Current CCNA or JNCIA certification. Strong understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and switching principles. Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and enterprise network troubleshooting. Experience with firewalls, especially Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto. Experience supporting multi-vendor network environments (Cisco / Juniper). Familiarity with TACLANEs, WAN optimizers, SONET, MSPP, and optical transport equipment. Strong network traffic analysis and diagnostic skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. xywuqvp Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint and Visio.
