À propos

A career as a Senior trading support analyst in the Capital Markets Operations team at National Bank means acting as a key operational partner for Commodities trading activities across the full trade lifecycle. This position may be based in either our Calgary or Montreal office.

This role allows you to have a positive impact on the Bank thanks to your knowledge of commodity derivatives and over the counter (OTC) products, your operational rigor, and your ability to support a complex and fast-moving trading environment.

In this role, you directly contribute to trade integrity, risk control, and operational efficiency, while playing an active part in continuous improvement initiatives and platform transformation. You work closely with front-office partners and multiple internal teams, ensuring that trading activities are supported with accuracy, responsiveness, and consistency.

Your role

  • Provide day-to-day operational support to Commodities OTC traders and marketers across the complete trade lifecycle
  • Ensure accurate capture, validation, confirmation, and reconciliation of over-the-counter trades within operational systems
  • Coordinate and validate settlements by collaborating with internal partners and external counterparts, resolving discrepancies within required timelines
  • Support the implementation of new products, regulatory requirements, and technology enhancements by translating business needs into operational readiness
  • Contribute to user acceptance testing activities, including scenario analysis, execution, and defect follow-up, to support efficient project delivery
  • Produce, analyze, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports for trading, risk, finance, and operations stakeholders, while continuously improving procedures and controls

Your team

Within the Capital Markets Operations department, you are part of a large team of approximately 120 colleagues and report to the Senior Manager, Commodities. Our team stands out for its strong expertise in OTC products, high level of collaboration, and active contribution to the performance of financial markets.

You work on the front line to support traders by bringing forward ideas, automating processes, and strengthening operational controls as the business evolves. The environment is dynamic and offers clear development paths, allowing you to deepen your expertise and progress toward different levels of responsibility within operations.

The Bank values continuous development and internal mobility. Our personalized training programs, based on learning through action, allow you to master your role and develop new areas of expertise. Tools such as the Data Academy, language training, the Harvard Learning Center, and coaching and mentoring support are available to you at all times.
