À propos

Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 2 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital-based rehabilitation department. As a key member of a multidisciplinary care team, the Physical Therapist 2 provides advanced, evidence-based physical therapy services to patients with a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and medically complex conditions. In this role, you will independently evaluate patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at restoring function, improving mobility, reducing pain, and promoting optimal health and independence. Working in a collaborative environment that emphasizes integrity, compassion, and accountability, the Physical Therapist 2 partners closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other members of the care team to coordinate treatment and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. You will perform comprehensive examinations, including functional mobility assessments, gait analysis, strength and range-of-motion testing, balance and coordination assessments, and cardiopulmonary tolerance evaluations. Based on your findings, you will design and progress treatment programs that may include therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy techniques, therapeutic activities, gait and stair training, balance and fall-prevention strategies, and patient-specific home exercise programs. The Physical Therapist 2 is responsible for managing a caseload efficiently and safely across acute care units, inpatient rehabilitation, and/or outpatient settings, depending on departmental needs. You will determine appropriate frequency and duration of treatment, monitor patient response, and adjust interventions to achieve measurable, functional goals in alignment with physician orders and best-practice guidelines. You will document evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, patient education, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliance with Methodist Health System policies, state and federal regulations, and payer requirements. In keeping with Methodist Health System’s mission to improve and save lives through compassionate, high-quality care, the Physical Therapist 2 provides ongoing education and support to patients, families, and caregivers. This includes instruction in safe mobility, proper use of assistive devices, energy conservation, falls prevention, post-surgical precautions, and strategies to promote independence at home and in the community. The Physical Therapist 2 also collaborates with case management and social work to support discharge planning, recommending appropriate follow-up services, durable medical equipment, and community resources. As a more experienced clinician, the Physical Therapist 2 serves as a resource and mentor to Physical Therapist 1s, physical therapist assistants, rehab technicians, and students. You may assist with onboarding and orientation, provide informal in-service training, and contribute to the development of clinical pathways, treatment protocols, and quality improvement initiatives. You will participate in departmental meetings, interdisciplinary rounds, and performance-improvement projects focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical reasoning, effective communication, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing changing priorities, and caring for patients with complex medical and functional needs. Methodist Health System fosters a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture, and the Physical Therapist 2 is expected to exemplify our core values of integrity, compassion, and accountability in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues. This position offers the opportunity to grow professionally within a respected, Texas-based health system that provides comprehensive healthcare services through hospitals and clinics across the region. Methodist Health System supports ongoing professional development through continuing education, specialty certification, and involvement in clinical projects. In addition to a competitive salary, Physical Therapist 2 team members are eligible for a robust benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) retirement options. If you are a motivated, patient-focused physical therapist seeking to advance your career while making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients, we invite you to consider this opportunity with Methodist Health System.
