Job Summary:
The Manager of Quality ensures patient safety and enhances quality of care by developing, implementing, and monitoring quality improvement initiatives. The manager will utilize quality outcome data from multiple sources such as Vizient and registry data, provide analysis and recommendation to meet strategic and quality improvement activities. This position will work closely with our service line experts, monitors performance outcomes, facilitate quality improvement committees, and supervise quality coordinators.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Working supervisor performs the basic functions of data analysis and performance improvement methodologies. Implements quality monitoring processes by establishing and monitoring work of staff under their direct supervision Works closely with members of various departments and clinical service lines throughout WMCG to identify opportunities to improve clinical quality performance, value-based programs, CMS and private payor's regulatory requirements, i.e. ECQMS, Stroke Certification, Cardiovascular Certification, ORYX. May provide support to OPPE and FPPE and/or medical record review as requested. Assures adherence to various monitoring programs within WMCG, performs data analysis, develops and disseminates clear concise reports for review by administrative services, committee, and team meetings. Helps to develop corrective action, participates in the development and delivery of didactic and practical components of the organizations educational activities as they relate to quality improvement and clinical quality excellence. Communicates recommendations/required actions to improve patient outcomes and aligns standard work with Wellstar Legacy. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelors Nursing or Accredited Program Nursing or Masters Nursing-Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. CPHQ-P - Cert Prof Healthcare Quality - Provisional (1-1/2 Yrs) within 1-1/2 Yrs RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Required Minimum Experience:
BSN with completion of MSN within 2 years of hire. Required and Minimum 3 years clinical acute care quality management. Required
Required Minimum Skills:
Computer skills required to include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and written communication. Group facilitation skills and ability to manage programs and projects.
