Barrett Steel is committed to providing innovative products and exceptional service and our team of experts work in close partnership with our customers; Due to growth we require a dynamic individual to join our respected sales team as Area Sales Manager looking after the Northamptonshire & surrounding areas.
All About the Role
In this Area Sales Manager role you will support the development of our existing customer portfolio, continuing to strengthen long-term client relationships whilst actively seeing out new market opportunities, onboarding new clients and building long term mutually beneficial relationships.
Specific tasks include:
Develop robust sales plans, within the constraints of operational capacity, that seek to secure profitable new market share and gross margin growth. Build on existing customer relationships ensuring full potential are received. Generate a pipeline of new customers and business leads by face-to-face visits, targeted phone calls and other marketing strategies, ensuring potential clients are aware of what our business has to offer Personally, lead negotiations with potential & current customers and through regular meetings, build relationships to maximise commercial opportunities with them and to fully understand customer needs and requirements. Delivering product presentations to customers on a range of items effectively illustrating use and USP. Ensuring a high level of customer service

You will have the passion, drive and confidence to work within the business in a collaborative, creative way.
Essential Skills for the role:
Previous B2B field sales experience within a progressive sales environment and have a proven record of building accounts and delivering results, ideally within the steel industry. Excellent communication skills and strong analytical ability. Be able to work to tight timescales. Builds strong relationships quickly, a proactive attitude and approach & thrives off working to targets. The office is based in Brackmills, Northampton, NN4 7DT and you will need to live within a reasonable daily commute to site as the majority of the time you will be office based with around 20% out in the field. Full UK driving license.
