A Brief Overview
Provides leadership oversight of assigned operating rooms which includes strategic planning, staffing, and fiscal wellness for the department.
What you will do
- Oversees the implementation and on-going review of the quality improvement activities of the patient care areas outlined above. Reviews annual quality improvement plans for areas of responsibility.
- Assures compliance with Joint Commission standards, OSHA guidelines, ethical and religious directives of Catholic Health Care facilities, and State and Federal Guidelines for areas of responsibility.
- Directs and develops long term and strategic plans of areas of responsibility. Participates in development of long term and strategic plans for hospital wide and individual patient care areas.
- Develops and maintains a positive relationship and effective communication with medical staff, the community, and other professional peers.
- Evaluates the performance of the management staff in areas of responsibility to provide for professional development and to maximize contribution toward established goals.
- Maintains basic knowledge of Medicare reimbursement principles, Knows and addresses applicable laws and regulations. Reviews and updates departmental policies and practices to reflect current regulations.
- Recommends and prepares budgets for upcoming fiscal year. This may include, but not necessarily be limited to: revenue, capital, and expense lines.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- 1-3 years Perioperative leadership experience.
