*Job Overview*
We are seeking two dedicated attorneys to join our legal team for family law and criminal defense. In this role, you will be instrumental in advising clients, drafting legal documents, conducting research, making court appearance and working with a dedicated team of approximately four (4) paralegals and two (2) other attorneys. Our firm practices a multitude of different types of law, but the head attorney is a specialist under the California State Bar in criminal defense.
*Duties*
* Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance on various practice areas with a focus on family law and criminal defense.
* Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
* Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings (including felony and misdemeanor trials) to advocate for their interests effectively.
* Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining meticulous records of case progress and legal documentation.
* Stay informed about changes in legislation and case law that could impact client interests or firm strategies.
* Collaborate with our paralegal team in case preparation, strategy and case work.
*Requirements*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the State of California.
* Experience in a law office environment with a strong foundation in legal research and writing skills.
* Competency in family law and criminal defense, including felony and misdemeanor cases.
* Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw; familiarity with legal administrative processes is a plus.
* Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to interpret laws and develop strategic solutions.
* Exceptional legal drafting skills with attention to detail and clarity.
* Ability to manage time efficiently while handling multiple cases under tight deadlines.
