The Opportunity We’re seeking Frontend Engineers to help design and build the user-facing foundation of our platform. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for engineers who care deeply about product quality, frontend craftsmanship, and delivering intuitive, reliable experiences at scale. You’ll work closely with product, design, backend, and mobile partners to build and evolve complex frontend systems that support real-world usage at national scale. Depending on experience, you may own specific product surfaces, contribute to frontend architecture and system design, and help shape best practices as the frontend organization grows. This role offers the opportunity to apply strong frontend engineering fundamentals—performance, accessibility, maintainability, and developer experience—within a fast-moving startup environment, with scope and responsibility matched to experience and clear room to grow. What You Will Own You’ll take end-to-end ownership of key frontend domains, from concept through production and iteration. Scope and ownership will scale with experience. Frontend Architecture & Development Design, build, and maintain user-facing experiences across web and mobile using React, React Native, and Expo, with an emphasis on shared architecture and reusable components. Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, including state management, application structure, data-fetching patterns, and long-term maintainability. Partner closely with frontend and mobile peers to evolve the codebase, improve build and release workflows, and deliver high-quality cross-platform experiences. Own defined product surfaces end to end, ensuring high standards across functionality, performance, accessibility, and visual polish. Performance, Reliability, and Quality Optimize frontend performance across devices and network conditions, including bundle size, startup time, rendering efficiency, and perceived responsiveness. Uphold strong standards for testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), code quality, and frontend reliability. Partner with backend engineers to design efficient APIs and data contracts that enable fast, dependable user experiences. Design Systems & Developer Experience Help evolve and maintain a scalable design system and component library to ensure consistency, reuse, and development speed. Improve frontend developer experience through better tooling, documentation, and thoughtful abstractions. Extend shared design patterns across web and mobile using common components, design tokens, and interaction models. Use AI-assisted development tools to increase velocity and quality, and help establish effective workflows for the broader team. Technical Leadership & Collaboration Contribute to a strong frontend engineering culture through code reviews, design feedback, and collaboration. Work closely with product managers and designers to translate ambiguous requirements into clear, user-centered solutions. Help define frontend best practices that balance speed with long-term quality and sustainability. What You Bring Strong experience building and scaling complex, user-facing web and mobile applications, with impact in a high-quality engineering environment. Deep proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks including React, React Native, and Expo. Experience designing and maintaining frontend architecture for large applications, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability. Strong understanding of frontend fundamentals, including: - Browser behavior, rendering performance, and optimization techniques - API integration patterns and collaboration with backend systems - Accessibility (a11y) and inclusive design best practices Experience partnering closely with designers to ensure designs are feasible, well specified, and accurately implemented across web and mobile. Familiarity with modern frontend tooling, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with mobile app distribution and release workflows (e.g., TestFlight, Play Store), including OTA updates. A strong product mindset, with the ability to balance technical tradeoffs against user experience and business needs. Comfortable operating in ambiguity, taking initiative, and owning problems end to end in a fast-moving environment. Strong comfort using AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity and quality, while maintaining sound engineering judgment. Experience building cohesive user experiences across web and mobile in products where reliability, trust, and usability matter. Why Join Us Work That Matters:
