What You'll Do
Collaborate with scientists and product managers to build proof‑of‑concepts that shape the future of Axon's products.
Architect and develop secure, privacy‑preserving solutions to continuously improve AI models.
Build platforms that accelerate research and AI product development.
Implement state‑of‑the‑art training techniques in collaboration with scientists.
Set high standards for ethical and responsible AI development.
Reports to: Manager, Machine Learning Engineering
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics or a related technical field.
6+ years of software engineering experience with a proven record of deploying AI models to the cloud.
Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and cloud architecture.
Proficiency in Python and C++; familiarity with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Advanced knowledge of Linux.
Strong problem‑solving and system‑architecture skills.
Excellent software design capabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with scientists, engineers, and product managers.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics or a related field.
Experience with LLMOps: evaluation, monitoring, quantization, teacher‑learner paradigms, etc.
Hands‑on fine‑tuning of large‑parameter models.
Familiarity with model encryption and privacy‑preserving AI techniques.

Location Hybrid, based at our San Francisco, CA office. Onsite Tuesdays through Fridays with remote work allowed on Mondays.
