Reimagine Aging Care. Lead with Purpose.

Geriatric Medicine Physician Faculty

Scranton, PA | The Wright Center for Community Health & Graduate Medical Education

At The Wright Center, we believe health care is a human right – and how we care for older adults defines the strength of our communities.

We’re seeking a board-certified Geriatrician to step into a high-impact faculty and leadership role, advancing population health, age-friendly care, and whole-person health services for older adults – especially those living with dementia, complex conditions, and social vulnerability.

This is more than a faculty position. It’s an opportunity to build, lead, and teach a better model of aging care.

Why This Role Matters

You will help shape a system where care is not fragmented–but integrated, compassionate, and aligned with what matters most to patients and their families.

As a clinical leader, you’ll drive the development of an Age-Friendly Health System, embedding the nationally recognized Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) 4Ms Framework into everyday care:

  • What Matters – Care guided by patient goals and values

  • Medication – Thoughtful prescribing that minimizes harm

  • Mentation – Proactive dementia, delirium, and depression care

  • Mobility – Preserving independence and function

You’ll also help design longitudinal, whole-person care models that support not just patients – but the caregivers and families who care for them.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver comprehensive, longitudinal care to older adults with complex medical, cognitive, and social needs

  • Serve as a population health leader, improving outcomes for high-risk aging populations

  • Build and advance an Age-Friendly Health System, integrating the IHI 4Ms into clinical practice and education

  • Lead innovative care models for patients living with dementia and cognitive decline

  • Partner with and support caregivers as essential members of the care team

  • Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and interprofessional learners

  • Serve as core faculty in the geriatric fellowship program with opportunities for leadership

  • Collaborate across disciplines in a fully integrated, team-based care model

  • Contribute to quality improvement, curriculum design, and scholarly work

Why The Wright Center

  • Mission in Action: Advance health equity and access for underserved populations

  • National Teaching Health Center Leader: Redefining how physicians are trained – where care is needed most

  • Whole-Person Health Model: Integrated primary care, behavioral health, and social services

  • Interprofessional Innovation: Work alongside a deeply collaborative care team

  • Supportive Culture: Leadership that invests in your growth, purpose, and well-being

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and sign-on bonus

  • CME allowance and dedicated time

  • 100% employer-paid malpractice (including tail)

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 403(b) with generous employer contribution

  • Generous PTO and paid holidays

  • A workplace built around purpose, flexibility, and impact

Who You Are

  • Board-certified in geriatric medicine (M.D. or D.O.)

  • Passionate about transforming care for older adults

  • Experienced – or deeply interested – in population health, dementia care, and team-based models

  • Committed to teaching, mentorship, and innovation

  • A collaborative clinician who believes in whole-person, relationship-centered care
