About this role For our BlackRock SMA Solutions Architecture & Devops team we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for building, scaling, optimizing and maintaining our applications and Kubernetes (EKS)/AWS infrastructure.
Job Description You will work with engineering teams focusing on infrastructure and automation, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Build, deploy, automate, manage, and maintain cloud-based production systems.
Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
Manage creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
Evaluate new technology alternatives and vendor products.
Troubleshoot and resolve system problems across various application domains and platforms.
Recommend architecture and process improvements.
Define and deploy systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.
Design, maintain, and manage tools for automation of operational processes.
Manage cloud-based infrastructure to ensure resilient and secure environment.
Requirements
Over 10 years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing cloud environments, preferably AWS.
Experience with Kubernetes, especially in large, multi‑cluster deployments (minimum 5 years).
Programming/scripting experience in at least one high‑level language, preferably Python (10 years).
Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Jenkins, and ArgoCD in cloud environments (min 5 years).
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Splunk (min 5 years).
Experience securing and hardening Kubernetes applications.
Experience with CI/CD – Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
Experience with git and GitHub.
Familiarity with GitOps concepts and tooling.
Knowledge of operating‑system administration.
Experience creating highly automated infrastructures.
Strong understanding of contemporary development and operations methodologies.
Experience scaling, optimizing, and tuning multi‑tier architectures: load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, networking.
Experience with tooling for patching cloud instances.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location and Compensation Atlanta, GA – Salary range: USD $148,000.00 – USD $200,000.00 + annual discretionary bonus and benefits including healthcare, leave, and retirement plans.
