Overview Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including information technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is within DTMB Agency Services area supporting MDE, CEPI, MCSC, MDCR, and MiLEAP.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, enhance and document technical architecture, databases and security solutions supporting the Center for Educational Performance and Information.
Develop and manage SQL Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) projects to achieve agency goals and mission.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including code reviews of team members, contractors and state employees.
Collaborate with business clients and DTMB professionals to define system requirements, perform analysis, recommend process and business flows, and develop consensus on business and system requirements.
Serve as primary contact and champion for business client needs, ensuring adherence to DTMB standards throughout the software development life cycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics (21 semester credits), or an associate’s degree plus 16 semester credits plus relevant work experience.
Minimum of two years of professional experience equivalent to Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11, or a combination of education and experience as outlined.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Experience in database administration, ETL development, and agile software development practices.
Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and deliver projects on schedule.

Location and Remote Work Office located in Lansing, MI. Hybrid work model: two days onsite at the official location and three days remote per week.
