UCHealth is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist for our night shift to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in the Healthcare & Medical Services department. As an MRI Technologist, you will perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging studies, working closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other care team members to support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care. You will operate and troubleshoot MRI scanners and related equipment, follow established imaging protocols, and apply your knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques to obtain clear, diagnostic-quality images while minimizing patient discomfort and scan times. In this role, you will greet and prepare patients for MRI procedures, verify patient identity and exam orders, explain the process in a calm and reassuring manner, and carefully screen for contraindications such as implanted devices, metal, or contrast sensitivities. You will position patients safely and comfortably, use appropriate immobilization and coil selection, and adjust technical factors and imaging sequences to optimize image quality while adhering to ALARA principles and UCHealth’s safety standards. Night shift responsibilities include independently managing a steady flow of scheduled and add-on exams, prioritizing urgent and emergent cases, and collaborating with emergency and inpatient teams to support time-sensitive imaging needs. You will monitor patients during scans, recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, and follow strict infection prevention, contrast administration, and MRI safety protocols, including safe zone practices and management of the MRI environment. You will accurately document exams, contrast usage, and patient information in the electronic medical record and PACS, maintain detailed records for quality and regulatory compliance, and assist radiologists with specialized or advanced imaging protocols. UCHealth emphasizes an innovative, diverse, and inclusive work environment, and in this role you will participate in ongoing education, competencies, and training on new MRI techniques, equipment upgrades, and best practices. You will support continuous improvement initiatives, support orientation and mentoring of new staff or students as needed, and contribute to a culture of patient care excellence, respect, and collaboration. UCHealth offers competitive pay, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth, advanced modality training, and career development within a large, nonprofit health system. This role is ideal for an experienced MRI Technologist or a registered radiologic technologist with MRI experience who is comfortable working nights, demonstrates strong technical skills, communicates effectively with patients and colleagues, and is committed to safe, high-quality imaging and compassionate, patient-centered care.
