As a Tutor , you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and academic readiness of our students. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Support the improvement of wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour management.
• Collaborate with the education team to help remove barriers to learning.
• Promote positive learning behaviours among young people.
• Lead classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
• Deliver engaging enrichment activities during golden time.
• Assist in lessons, addressing academic, emotional, or behavioural needs.
• Respond to immediate concerns and clarify situations as they arise.
• Compile information related to lessons and interventions.
• Advocate for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
• Lead on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
• Develop the Pupil Voice initiative, collaborating with SLT on the Pupil Council.
• Build strong relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
• Experience in behaviour management techniques.
• A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
