Your RoleAs a Tutor , you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and academic readiness of our students. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Support the improvement of wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborate with the education team to help remove barriers to learning.
- Promote positive learning behaviours among young people.
- Lead classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Deliver engaging enrichment activities during golden time.
- Assist in lessons, addressing academic, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- Respond to immediate concerns and clarify situations as they arise.
- Compile information related to lessons and interventions.
- Advocate for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
- Lead on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
- Develop the Pupil Voice initiative, collaborating with SLT on the Pupil Council.
- Build strong relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
- Experience in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
