Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load large volumes of data from various sources.
Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure data pipeline requirements are met.
Design and implement efficient data models and database schemas to support data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
Optimize database performance and query execution.
Develop and implement data transformation processes to cleanse, normalize, and aggregate data for analytics and reporting purposes.
Apply data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
Design and maintain data warehouse architecture and infrastructure to support the storage and retrieval of large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
Monitor data pipelines, database performance, and system health to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) as a Data Engineer, Big Data Engineer, or a similar role, preferably in the fintech industry or a financial institution.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java.
Experience with data warehouse solutions such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases).
Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive, HBase, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of data modelling principles and database design.
Understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance standards in the fintech industry.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
