*Position Summary:* Performs routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.
* *Essential Functions and Responsibilities:*
*1. Specializes in performing routine and complex MRI procedures.*
*2. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.*
*3. Operates and maintains all assigned MRI equipment to ensure it works properly.*
*4. Positions patients and utilizes equipment in order to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.*
*5. Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.*
*6. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.*
*7. Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.*
*8. Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.*
*9. Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.*
*10. May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.*
*11. Performs other related duties as required and directed.*
*Qualifications:*
Required:
* Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
* Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
* Current BLS certification.
Preferred:
* Associate degree in radiology.
