Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a leading non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Radiographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform a full range of diagnostic radiographic procedures in support of high-quality patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff, you will obtain and verify patient histories, review orders, and ensure appropriate imaging protocols are followed to deliver accurate, timely diagnostic images. You will be responsible for positioning patients safely and comfortably, operating radiographic equipment and related PACS/RIS systems, and adjusting technical factors to optimize image quality while adhering to ALARA principles and all radiation safety guidelines. The Radiographer will carefully verify patient identification, follow standard precautions and infection prevention practices, and maintain a strong focus on patient dignity, privacy, and cultural sensitivity. You will explain procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance to patients and families, reflecting Presbyterian Healthcare’s culture of patient care, respect, integrity, and accountability. Key responsibilities include performing routine and complex exams such as chest, abdomen, skeletal, fluoroscopic and OR imaging, assisting providers during interventional or bedside procedures, and escalating urgent findings to radiologists or the clinical team in a timely manner. You will participate in quality control activities, equipment checks, and image quality review, documenting work accurately in the electronic medical record and imaging systems. The role also involves maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring for equipment issues, reporting incidents, and following all departmental policies and regulatory standards. As a member of a collaborative team, you will support workflow optimization by prioritizing exams based on clinical urgency, assisting coworkers during high-volume periods, and participating in cross-training as appropriate.
