Imaging Coordinator CT

The Imaging Coordinator CT at Intermountain Health plays a key role in delivering safe, high-quality CT imaging services that support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care. In addition to daily coordination, the Imaging Coordinator CT actively participates in quality improvement initiatives. They monitor imaging turnaround times, exam accuracy, repeat and reject rates, and adherence to radiation dose reduction strategies. The role contributes to protocol development and standardization, collaborates on implementing new technologies and best practices, and assists in staff education on updated CT techniques, policies, and safety standards. The position requires frequent interaction with patients and families, providing clear explanations of procedures, preparing patients for CT exams, and addressing questions or concerns with empathy and professionalism. The coordinator advocates for patient safety by confirming identity, allergies, and contraindications; verifying lab results when required for contrast; and following evidence-based guidelines for contrast use and monitoring. The Imaging Coordinator CT also acts as a liaison between the CT team and other departments, helping to prioritize urgent and emergent studies, coordinate inpatient and ED workflows, and communicate effectively with ordering providers. They may participate in staffing plans, assist with training and onboarding new CT technologists, and help maintain appropriate supply levels and readiness of CT rooms.
