Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a skilled Radiographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment for patients across a variety of clinical settings. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will prepare and position patients, operate radiographic and related imaging equipment, and ensure that all images meet established quality standards while maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and safety. The Radiographer will verify patient identity and exam orders, review medical histories for appropriateness and safety considerations, and explain procedures in a clear, compassionate manner to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation. You will apply appropriate radiation protection and ALARA principles for patients, staff, and yourself, utilizing shielding, proper exposure techniques, and equipment quality control checks. Daily responsibilities include setting technical factors, adjusting equipment for optimal image quality, assessing images for diagnostic adequacy, and repeating views only when clinically necessary. As part of Presbyterian Healthcare’s commitment to exceptional care, you will uphold our culture of respect, integrity, accountability, and patient-centered service. This includes documenting procedures accurately within the electronic health record, maintaining accurate exam logs and quality documentation, and promptly communicating any critical or unexpected findings to the appropriate clinicians in accordance with departmental protocols. You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, supporting radiology workflow by prioritizing exams based on clinical urgency, assisting with patient transport and positioning, and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment. You will be expected to follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards, including maintaining equipment in proper working order, reporting malfunctions, and assisting with routine quality assurance testing. The role may include working in the emergency department, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics, requiring flexibility, strong time-management skills, and the ability to perform well in both routine and fast-paced, high-acuity situations. Empathy, professionalism, and effective communication with patients of all ages, backgrounds, and physical conditions are essential. Presbyterian Healthcare Services offers a collaborative work environment where Radiographers are encouraged to pursue ongoing professional development, continuing education, and cross-training in additional modalities as appropriate. You will have the opportunity to precept or mentor students and new team members, contribute to process-improvement and patient-safety initiatives, and participate in departmental meetings and training. In keeping with our mission to improve community health, you will contribute to delivering safe, high-quality imaging services that support meaningful health outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.
