À propos

Intermountain Health is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist II to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospitals and clinics. In this role, you will perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures with a strong focus on clinical quality, patient safety, and compassionate care. As a key member of a collaborative care team, you will support physicians and advanced practice providers by producing high-quality images, assisting with procedures, and contributing to accurate and timely diagnoses. The Ultrasound Technologist II independently performs general, obstetric, vascular, and small-parts ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and best-practice guidelines. You will prepare patients for exams, verify patient identity and exam orders, obtain relevant clinical history, explain procedures in a clear and reassuring manner, and position patients to optimize image quality while maintaining comfort and dignity. During procedures, you will operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, document findings, and recognize and flag critical or unusual results for immediate clinical attention. Working within Intermountain Health’s culture of excellence, compassion, and integrity, you will follow all infection prevention, safety, and privacy standards, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers. You will contribute to continuous quality improvement by participating in image review, peer feedback, equipment checks, and process-improvement initiatives. The Ultrasound Technologist II also supports training and mentoring of students and less experienced technologists, sharing best practices and modeling professional, patient-centered behavior. This position requires effective communication and teamwork with radiologists, referring providers, nurses, and support staff. You will accurately complete documentation in the electronic medical record, follow department scheduling and workflow priorities, and help manage exam throughput while maintaining a calm, respectful, and service-oriented approach. You will be expected to demonstrate sound clinical judgment, escalate concerns appropriately, and respond professionally in urgent and emergent situations. Employees at Intermountain Health can expect a collaborative and innovative environment with opportunities for professional growth. Ultrasound Technologist II caregivers are encouraged to participate in continuing education, cross-training in additional modalities or specialties as appropriate, and engagement in new technologies and protocols that support cutting-edge healthcare solutions. This role is ideal for a technologist who is committed to lifelong learning, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional patient experiences in every interaction.
