À propos

About Us: iota Biosciences, a wholly owned subsidiary of Astellas Pharma US, is advancing a new class of bioelectronic medicines through the development of fully implantable Class III medical devices. Our proprietary technologies open therapeutic and diagnostic possibilities not previously accessible to clinicians.
Together with Astellas, we are committed to patient‑centric design, scientific and engineering excellence, and cross‑functional teamwork. These principles guide us in bringing transformative, first‑of‑its‑kind technologies into the clinic and closer to patients.
The Role We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our urological therapies team and play a key role in advancing next‑generation implantable medical devices.
In this role, you will work with complex biological signals and experimental datasets to help drive device development, improve signal interpretation, and generate insights that inform critical R&D decisions.
You’ll collaborate closely with hardware engineers, neuroscientists, clinicians, and product teams, helping translate experimental data into meaningful insights that accelerate the development of novel therapies.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high‑impact problems in neurotechnology and medical devices, where your analyses directly influence how new therapies are designed and delivered.
What You’ll Do
Build and scale data pipelines and analysis workflows for biological signal processing and device performance data
Analyze experimental datasets from benchtop, tissue, preclinical, and clinical studies
Develop algorithms, statistical models, and machine learning approaches to extract meaningful patterns from biological signals
Create clear visualizations and technical reports that inform R&D and product development decisions
Partner with scientists and engineers to design robust experiments and data collection strategies
Translate complex data into actionable insights for technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Contribute to the data science strategy supporting next‑generation implantable medical devices
What you’ll bring:
BS with 5+ years or MS with 2+ years in Data Science, Computational Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
Or a PhD in a related field
Strong Python skills for data analysis, signal processing, and visualization
Experience working with time‑series data or complex experimental datasets
Experience developing statistical models, algorithms, or machine learning approaches
Familiarity with Git, reproducible workflows, and cloud‑based data infrastructure
Ability to communicate insights clearly across multidisciplinary teams
This role is expected to be on site 2 days per week and includes 5-10% travel.
Nice to Have
Experience with biological signals, neurophysiology data, or neuromodulation technologies
Experience in medical devices, biotech, or regulated healthcare environments
Experience analyzing electrophysiology or neural signal data
