Welcome to Redstone Hall School, a vibrant new educational establishment in Ipswich! We cater to up to 30 pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs, providing a safe and supportive environment where every child is valued and empowered. As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing the strategic SEN policy and provision.
• Designing targeted interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
• Leading annual reviews and multi-agency meetings.
• Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
• Coordinating day-to-day SEN operations and maintaining accurate records.
• Providing support to colleagues in effective teaching and behavior management.
• Overseeing intervention groups and evaluating their effectiveness.
• Promoting inclusion and smooth transitions for pupils.
• Teaching commitment (50/50) with a preference for secondary teaching experience, ideally in Science.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to pursue the new NPQ for SENCOs.
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• A background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
• Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
• A solid understanding of the SEND Code of Conduct.
• A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.
