Economic Development Data Content Strategist
Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Economic Development Data Content Strategist. This position will extract data from disparate sources, inspect, clean, and model the data to discover and present useful information that the department and organization may need. Additional responsibilities include performing tasks that support the organization's use of data-driven decision-making to advance the Economic Development mission and acting as the Economic Development liaison to the Core Performance Management Team, executing a strategy for Economic Development data, systems, and integration aligned with overall Town initiatives. The Economic Development Data Content Strategist reports to the Economic Development Deputy Director. The primary job duties of this position include: Analyzing and manipulating data sets to find insights Creating visualizations of data sets and ensuring data visualizations are accurate and up-to-date Writing compelling research-driven stories about data and how it relates to the line of service Providing frequent Economic Development data reporting to the department and organization as needed Independently determining where the "holes" are in the data, recommending improvements, and assisting in making improvements to workflows with managed software, systems, or programs Working through incremental data processes to test recommendations and adjust, or further, recommendations as necessary Managing visualization tools, including licensing, training, and educating staff as needed Querying different data sources while dealing with a continuous stream of data requests from multiple stakeholders Evaluating, recommending, and implementing improvements to existing processes, configurations, documentation, and reporting, automating recurring analysis, and building reusable processes to speed up future analysis Effectively communicating conclusions and recommendations based on data analysis findings Developing systems and guidelines for housing data from varied sources Working alongside the Data Governance team to ingest, transform, and QA relevant data sets Tentative Recruitment Timeline: Posting Closes: April 24, 2026 Virtual On-Demand Interviews: April 30, 2026 Tentative First In-person Interviews: Week of May 11 Tentative Second In-Person Interviews: Week of May 18 Tentative Start Date: June 8, 2026 At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward-thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements: Undergraduate degree in a position-related field or equivalent job-related experience. At least 5 years of relevant experience An understanding of digital mediums, technologies, and trends. A passion for innovation on all fronts. Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Power BI Success in presenting strategic solutions Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel Knowledge of Economic Development aligned software systems such as ArcGIS, Costar, Placer.ai, Lightcast, EnerGov, etc. This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt-ineligible for overtime compensation. This position has been identified as an eligible position for a Hybrid work agreement, defined as "Approximately half (50%) of the employees' time is spent on-site and half (50%) can be spent working remotely". Currently, the Office of Economic Development has identified Monday and Thursday as eligible remote workdays, bringing the team together in office on Tuesday and Wednesday. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point.
