Database Administrator II
to join our client’s team supporting
mission‑critical Operational Technology environments , including
SCADA and nuclear systems . This is a high‑impact role where your database expertise directly supports energy reliability, safety, and long‑term infrastructure projects. Your Role & Responsibilities
Administer and support
Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB
databases across production and non‑production environments
Perform
database builds, patching, upgrades, and configuration
activities
Execute
backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies
to ensure system resilience
Conduct
performance tuning and capacity planning
for high‑availability environments
Develop and maintain
automation scripts
using KornShell (Unix/Linux) and PowerShell (Windows)
Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and resolve incidents through
ServiceNow
Participate in an
on‑call rotation
(every 4 weeks, 7‑day coverage)
Collaborate closely with application teams, system administrators, and project stakeholders
Support ongoing initiatives such as
ADMS upgrades
and capital infrastructure projects
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
Hands‑on DBA experience with
Oracle and SQL Server
Working knowledge of
PostgreSQL and MariaDB
Strong experience with
backup/recovery, performance tuning, and patching
Scripting experience with
KornShell and PowerShell
Familiarity with
ServiceNow
for ticket and request management
Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non‑technical teams
Experience working in
regulated or operational environments
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience in
utility, energy, or SCADA environments
Knowledge of
Oracle ASM, RAC, or Data Guard
SQL Server
AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, or log shipping
Experience with
major database version upgrades
Exposure to
automation and monitoring tools
Education & Certifications You Need
Bachelor’s degree in technology, Science, Business, or related field OR
equivalent professional experience (typically 8+ years)
Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle certifications (OCP/OCA) preferred

$47–$57 per hour . Final compensation is determined based on skill alignment, years of experience, and fair, market‑based rates by geography.
