A senior-level engineering role responsible for designing, developing, and optimising manufacturing processes, layouts, and production systems for complex assembly and equipment operations. This position focuses on improving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and driving process robustness across manufacturing environments.


Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assembly, machining, equipment installation, and material handling
  • Develop efficient plant layouts, including machine arrangement to optimise productivity and flow
  • Define sequence of operations and specify fabrication procedures for tools, equipment, and related production systems
  • Adapt equipment and machine designs to suit factory and production requirements
  • Integrate inspection and testing requirements into production planning where required
  • Monitor equipment, machinery, and tool performance and lead investigations into defects or inefficiencies
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve process, equipment, and quality-related issues
  • Develop and apply statistical process control methods and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide engineering input on design concepts to ensure manufacturability and optimal use of production systems
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant regulatory and quality standards
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects from design through to implementation, ensuring delivery of objectives
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and team members

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience, or 2+ years with a relevant advanced degree
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process design, industrial engineering, or production systems
  • Experience applying statistical xcfaprz process control and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of regulatory and quality compliance requirements in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to manage or contribute to complex projects with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex engineering issues
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating with senior stakeholders
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment integration, and process optimisation
  • Ability to mentor or guide junior engineering staff and support capability development
