Contract type: Fixed term contract (two years currently with extensions)


Hours: 40 hours per week, The candidate must be able to work on Saturdays from May through July, with regular hours resuming afterward


Role Overview

This position involves implementing and scaling innovative cloud computing solutions and network configuration changes across a large-scale enterprise environment. The role requires a candidate who can help with the implementation and scaling of processes as part of a major retrofit program, ensuring results are delivered in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional troubleshooting skills and a deep understanding of how servers, operating systems, and networks function and scale.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, EBS, ELBs, and VPC components.
  • Build and validate new environments using AWS CDK pipelines and troubleshoot stack failures.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems such as Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, and Red Hat distributions.
  • Participate in coordinated deployment activities for international site cutovers, often during off‑hours.
  • Monitor and support infrastructure pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec teams to implement AWS IAM best practices and OS‑level access controls.
  • Provide live support during migrations, respond to operational tickets, and participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Validate network routing, DNS resolution, and port accessibility post‑deployment.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks and rollback procedures.

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of deploying and operating Linux or other UNIX variants in a datacenter environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Good understanding of automation via Python programming and shell scripting.
  • Understanding of standard internet protocols (Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, HTTP).
  • Demonstrable grasp of security best practices in server configuration and access controls.
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Essentials certification is preferred.
  • Educational or professional experience related to robotics technologies.
  • Knowledge of C++.
  • Experience deploying or managing servers in large‑scale, geographically diverse environments.
  • Experience managing and monitoring large projects.
  • Operational knowledge of common enterprise switching and routing platforms.

The position is remote but requires flexibility for occasional work hours.
