Sales Commissions Analyst Role As a member of the Sales Operations & Enablement team, the Sales Commissions Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely calculation and distribution of sales commissions to CoreSite's Sales team and external agents. The role cross‑collaborates with Sales, Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources to collect, analyze, and validate sales data for commission calculations. Success requires a strong understanding of sales compensation plans, exceptional analytical skills, and effective communication with sales representatives, key stakeholders, external partners and agents.
Duties
Collect, validate, and analyze sales data, including revenue, quotas, and performance metrics, to ensure accurate commission calculations
Respond promptly to sales commission inquiries, providing detailed information and addressing any concerns, exception requests, or other commission‑related needs
Ensure the timely and accurate processing of sales commissions for all commission‑based roles on a monthly and quarterly cadence
Audit commission calculations to verify accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly
Escalate discrepancies or disputes to department leadership and assist in their resolution as needed
Provide support to the Sales team by addressing inquiries related to commission plans, payouts, and calculations
Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to ensure proper recording, reporting, and reconciliation of commission expenses and payments
Generate regular reports on commission payments, providing insights and analysis to support decision‑making
Continuously assess and improve commission processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency
Partner with Sales, Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources to establish and maintain accurate sales commission plans and policies
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to commission management to ensure CoreSite's processes remain competitive and compliant
Promote and demonstrate behaviors consistent with CoreSite's culture and Core Values
Additional Responsibilities for Processing and Managing Commissions for Outside Agents
Accurately process and manage commissions for outside agents in a timely manner
Respond promptly to outside agent commission inquiries, providing clear and detailed explanations to address any concerns
Collaborate cross‑functionally with the Accounting team each month to ensure accurate and transparent reporting of outside agent commissions
Evaluate, maintain, and enhance commission processing systems and workflows to streamline operations and improve efficiency
Audit commission calculations to verify accuracy and quickly resolve any discrepancies
Partner with CoreSite's internal Channel team to develop and maintain relationships with outside agents, serving as a primary point of contact for commission‑related matters
Generate regular reports on external commission payments, providing insights and analysis to support decision‑making
Assist in the development and delivery of training sessions for outside agents on commission structures, policies, and procedures to enhance clarity, understanding, and transparency
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment that consists of at least two onsite days per week
Strong understanding of sales compensation principles, incentive plans, and commission calculations
Proficient in commission management software and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, CaptivateIQ, Xactly, SAP)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software
Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail
Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Strong organizational skills and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Knowledge of financial and accounting principles related to commissions
Understanding of relevant legal and compliance requirements in sales compensation
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Education/Experience
Demonstrated experience in sales compensation administration or a similar role, preferably in a high‑growth organization
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline

Compensation Base salary range: $72,000 – $85,000. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity based upon individual and company performance.
