Key Responsibilities
Deep understanding of Catalyst‑based wireless architectures (FlexConnect, Bridge Mode, Fabric‑Enabled Wireless/SD‑Access Wireless).
Design robust, scalable, and secure wireless network solutions to meet NASA’s evolving business needs across diverse environments.
Conduct requirements gathering for complex wireless projects, collaborating with stakeholders across LAN, security, and applications.
Use Ekahau software to create predictive models and heatmaps for wireless performance.
Determine optimal access point placement and RF coverage for office spaces, conference rooms, and outdoor areas.
Manage and configure Cisco ISE to enforce network access control policies for wired and wireless environments.
Respond to network incidents, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
Manage network configuration, inventory, and performance using Cisco Catalyst Center (DNAC).
Develop custom Splunk dashboards and alerts for network‑related incidents, performance issues, and security events.
Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of network configurations, processes, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions.
Provide input and guidance to government customers on best practices for network operation and maintenance, creating documents and presentations as needed.
Work with NASA customers, technicians, network engineers, and architects to execute design changes or modifications of NASA’s network infrastructure and resolve customer‑impacting issues.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related field.
10–15 years of combined WLAN and LAN experience in large enterprise networks.
Ability to obtain and maintain at least a Public Trust clearance.
Professional knowledge of Wi‑Fi technologies (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
Extensive experience with Cisco wireless infrastructure (access points, controllers, Prime Infrastructure, Catalyst Center).
Proficiency in site surveys and RF design using Ekahau, iBWave, Airmagnet, or similar.
Strong understanding of LAN technologies (PoE, 3‑tier, SD‑Access).
Solid grasp of Cisco routing and switching, multicast, and QoS.
Experience deploying QoS in wireless environments.
Experience with NAC using 802.1X for wired and wireless.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, CWNE, CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Wireless).
Desired Skills
Experience with SD‑Access Wireless (fabric wireless).
In‑depth knowledge of Cisco ISE for access control and user/device authentication.
Proficiency with Splunk for log management, analysis, and custom dashboards.
Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS, IPSec).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex network issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with team members, management, and stakeholders.
Team collaboration and mentorship for other network engineers.
Familiarity with SD‑WAN solutions and network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
Solid understanding of RF principles.
Additional security and route/switch certifications a plus.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
$116,350.00 – $210,325.00. This is a general guideline; final compensation depends on responsibilities, experience, skills, and internal equity.
